History

Headis was invented in 2006 by the former sports student René Wegner. The soccer pitch was occupied so he had to go to the table tennis tables. The idea came up to only play the ball with your head. During his sports studies René developed this idea. As Headis is easy to learn and fun to play it got very famos quickly. Every day new people start playing Headis.

Already 2008 René organized the first Headis tournaments among students in Germany. Today there is in international tournemant series with 10 to 12 Headis tournaments per year. There are also European und World Championships.

The public interest was very high right from the start. One of the first milestones was Renés appearence at “TV Total” with the World Champion Felix Weins. Two more great milestones were the “TV Total Headis Spezial” in Oktober 2014 and 2015.

This lead to a 5 digit number of Headis players in Germany and all over the World.
